Many
churches from several states joined us in a special consolidated Katrina relief project from
January
5-12, 2008 in
Lakeshore, Mississippi.
In May 2006, Grace Baptist of Carlisle sent two teams to Mississippi and
Louisiana to assist in Katrina relief. One of the churches we helped was
Lakeshore Baptist Church in Lakeshore, Mississippi. This church is led by Don
A. Elbourne, Jr. who is involved with the Southern Baptist Founders Movement.
During Hurricane Katrina
Lakeshore Baptist was
totally destroyed, as was every member’s home. However, out of that disaster
the Lord has given Lakeshore Baptist a vision not only to recover but to reach
out to the local community. For a better understanding of Lakeshore’s
devastation and recovery efforts, we encourage you to visit their website at
WWW.REBUILDLAKESHORE.COM.
In days to come we will add information and photos about what was accomplished
during this latest trip.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
One generation will commend your works to another;
they will tell of your mighty acts.
Psalm 145:3 & 4 |
